Chicago raised me, New York keeps me on my toes (literally). I’m an artist and technical consultant who’s happiest with a starry sky overhead and a good cup of tea in hand. I’ve been tap dancing around Chicago since 2014, performing, teaching, and growing as a principal dancer with the nationally renowned tap dance organization M.A.D.D. Rhythms. Somewhere along the way, I took my improvisation to the streets—literally—busking in the time-honored tradition of street performance. That venture grew into Broads On Boards, a crew I co-founded that kept the rhythms flowing (and the audiences guessing) for years.
There’s nothing more interesting to me than, well—everything. That curiosity led me to earn a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering and to collaborate with organizations such as NASA and the Illinois Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (I-MRSEC). Out of that work came Momentary Magnetism, an NSF-funded project that explores magnetism through a cross-disciplinary lens of science and performance.
A recent NYC transplant, I’m exploring what the ‘second greatest city in the world’ has to offer, though Chicago will always hold the top spot in my heart. My goal is to team up with curious minds to make even curious-er work—art that cracks open new questions, sparks conversation, and leaves room for wonder.
My work lives at the intersection of tradition, improvisation, and joyful noise. Right now, I’m especially excited about developing our bubbles—a new work inspired by John W. Bubbles exploring digital echo chambers and inviting audiences to reflect on the realities we create for ourselves.
Whether on stage, in the studio, or in the lab, I am dedicated to connecting people through rhythm, inquiry, and imagination.
